Urgent action is needed to address the animal welfare crisis in Greece, where countless dogs are suffering. In late 2023, Greater Good Charities and The Animal Rescue Site began working with local groups in Xanthi, Greece, to rescue and care for over 600 sick and starving dogs abandoned at a municipal dump.
The situation is dire, with thousands of homeless dogs in the area desperately needing our help. Through your generous donations, we’ve been able to provide essential food, medical treatment, and spay-neuter services, while also supporting foster care and dog adoption initiatives. However, many more animals, like Jimmy, are still in peril.
Meet Jimmy: A puppy born at the dump, he has faced unimaginable hardships, struggling for survival among other dogs. Found emaciated and terrified, he deserves a chance at life filled with love and security. With ongoing medication and care, we can help him recover and eventually find a forever home.
Every contribution matters and can help save lives. We are committed to responding to this crisis and assisting local rescues in providing the necessary care for these pups. Please consider donating to help emaciated dogs in Greece and give them a fighting chance.
