This enchanting worry doll wreath is a creation of Elias Garcia from Guatemala, beautifully integrating quitapenas, or ‘worry dolls’, crafted by the Lopez Garcia family. Each wreath is skillfully wrapped in hand-woven cotton fabric and adorned with numerous tiny dolls, each dressed in vibrant hand-loomed textiles, creating the best handcrafted wreaths for home decor.
According to local legend, the princess Ixmucané was gifted the power to resolve people’s troubles by the Sun God. As a tribute, the tradition of crafting these miniature dolls emerged, allowing individuals to share their concerns with the dolls in hopes of finding solutions. This charming custom has persisted through generations, making this wreath not just a decorative piece but a symbol of hope and care.
Materials: Cotton, cardboard, nylon, polyfill. Please note that this is a hand-crafted item; colors, sizes, and motifs may vary slightly.
Dimensions: 0.6 in. H x 15 in. Diam.
