There’s no reason anyone should have to choose between their safety and the safety of their pets. Many individuals live in fear, not only for themselves but also for their beloved animals. Disturbingly, research shows that approximately 71% of survivors of domestic violence report their abusers have threatened or harmed their pets. Sadly, the lack of pet-friendly shelters means that many survivors feel compelled to stay in dangerous situations because they cannot find safe accommodations for their animals.
At the forefront of change, the Greater Good Charities Rescue Rebuild initiative is dedicated to transforming domestic violence shelters into welcoming spaces for both survivors and their pets. Our mission is clear: to provide the best domestic violence shelter for pets, ensuring no one has to leave their furry companions behind.
We invite you to join us in this vital mission. A donation of just $100 can offer a night of safety for a survivor and their beloved pet. Together, we can make a significant difference.
